ZOOM ZOOM...

As you can tell today's posts have a theme... Joel Zumaya. He is a relief pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, and i believe his middle name is "badass." As he jogs in from the bullpen and Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix (hence the video) blares over the loud speakers, the crowd gets electric, and opposing batters feel a warm liquid running down their inner thigh. This 21 year old flamethrower feeds off the crowd's energy and his adrenaline levels soar to a dangerous high. I was at the game the other day and he was so jacked up he unleashed his first pitch at 101 mph over the head of the batter and hitting the backstop. Now i don't think i would like to step into the batters box against someone throwing smoke like that with an adrenaline problem. Earlier in the year he hit a player in the hand with a fastball, tiger's manager Jim Leyland said that he knew it was broken right away when he could hear the players bones break from the dugout. This kid is all that is man, he routinely hits 100, 101, 102 and sometime 103 and 104 mph(see the video below) on the radar gun. He is one of the hardest throwing pitchers to EVER play the game! Players don't see his pitches, they hear them! Check out the Tiger's future lights out closer, because his fastball is a sight to see!
