Best clutch college football play calling EVER...

Tip of the day...

are you sick of opening a 2 liter of pop, not finishing it and then having it go flat within a day or two? Well next time after opening it, just crush the bottle in order to the the level of pop as close to the top as you can. Pop goes flat because as there is more air space between the top of the sealed bottle and the pop the carbonation, which is a gas dissolved in a liquid, will escape until it's the same pressure in the air as it is in the liquid, which causes the flat pop. The smaller the amount of air between the pop and the cap of the bottle, the less gas that will escape leaving your pop carbonated for much longer periods of time!

the Detroit Tigers unconditionally released Dmitri Young today in what I see as quite a surprise move. GM Dave Dombrowski said the move was "strictly performance related." I'm going to call some BS here and say that something went wrong and the tigs are looking to send a message to their quickly sliding team. It's too bad, Dmitri had recently turned his life around by getting rid of some drug, alcohol, and girlfriend choking problems. I've always liked him, he was the first guy in my opinion that led to the resurgance of the tigers this year. So good luck wherever you end up DY and thanks for the memories while wearing the olde english D.

Hey Facebook, you suck...

I will admit to being sucked into the facebook a while back, and it was all fun and games. Sure it can be a bit sketchy (or dodgey depending on your location), but it was a convenient way to stay in touch with friends you otherwise would not think about if they didn't just update their photo album, or their relationship status. But this new stuff they put in sucks HARD. I was browsing around the site and I have seen that this is a very common viewpoint! Now facebook is creepy, i looked last night and i could see which of my friends had most recently taken dumps, or solicited high school girls, or what they made for a bed time snack. Nice work facebook, if it ain't broke... don't fix it! Jackasses.

He was always a real funny dude, especially when he came on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. A depressing fact...

As i begin my Ph.D. in chemistry, i must face the fact that no matter how good i get at chemistry, i will never be able to carry out reactions as well as a single bacterium. A pause for patriotism...

NEW YORK -- Jim Leyland put his argument with umpires on hold for a moment of patriotism.

The Detroit Tigers' manager was ejected in the seventh inning of Thursday's 6-4 loss to New York, then he went onto the field to argue with plate umpire James Hoye.

Leyland got to the plate and started jawing with Hoye when Yankee Stadium public address announcer Bob Sheppard called for a moment of silence followed by the playing of Kate Smith's rendition of "God Bless America." Leyland backed off and stood at attention before resuming the argument.

"That was a little embarrassing," Leyland said. "I certainly in no way, shape or form would I ever be disrespectful. But you don't tell the umpires, 'Hey, I've got to listen to Kate.' "

Leyland was unhappy with Hoye's strike zone. Leyland, tossed for the second time this season, said he did not deserve to be ejected.

"I say less to the umpires than any manager in this league," he said.

McDonald's is racist...

Is it McDonald's or MkkkDonalds? I'm not so sure anymore. Of course we can all remember their set of commercials aimed at the African American demographic, the pinnacle being a group of young kids playing basketball...on rollerblades in the hood. Sure that was all fine and dandy, but have you seen the new chicken fries commercial? It features a father chicken coming home to see his son chicken hanging out with a bunch of french fries, listening to some hip hop music. The dad asks the small chicken (just a reminder chicken is a WHITE meat) what he's doing with the "fries." The kid chicken tells the dad that the "fries" are his "boys" (racist generalization). The father then proceeds to tell the kid chicken that he can't hang out with his "boys" or he's going to end up being "one of them" (racist) too. He even goes as far as saying that they are just a "side dish" (jeez McDonald's why don't you just send them to the back of the bus). So wake up McDonald's this isn't 1955!
